Course Overview

The Small Animal Acupuncture CE Course is a 130-hour C.E. course that certifies students in veterinary acupuncture with an emphasis on small animals. It is equivalent to the regular Small Animal 5-session Basic Acupuncture CE course.  To enroll in this CE course you must be either a licensed veterinarian or you must have completed at least one year of school at an accredited college of veterinary medicine (CVM) by the start date of the CE course.


This course is taught in English.

Course Objectives
  • Understand the fundamental principles of veterinary acupuncture;
  • 126 Transpositional Canine Acupuncture Points (hands-on, wet-lab demos);
  • 40 Classical Canine Acupuncture Points (hands-on, wet-lab demos);
  • Master the use, indications and contraindications of dry needling, aqua-acupuncture, moxibustion and electro-acupuncture;
  • Learn using acupuncture for treatment of arthritis, neurological, reproductive, gastrointestinal and respiratory disorders in dogs. 
Please note that the Chi Institute cannot issue any certification to DVM students until their DVM has been obtained.
